The College Chapter — Loyalty, Learning, and Setting My Direction

Affaq Ahmed / October 20, 2025

After finishing high school at Fauji Foundation School, Khushab, I found myself waiting eagerly for my 10th class results.
While waiting, I joined a summer camp at Superior College (Jauharabad Campus) for FSc Pre-Engineering.

When the results finally came, I scored 89% overall, with 92% in 10th grade — missing the 90% mark by just 1%.
That single percent meant missing out on the Punjab Government laptop scholarship, which was given to students scoring 90% or above.
It stung, but it also taught me early on that sometimes even small margins matter — in academics, sports, and life.

The Scholarship Dilemma

Superior College offered me a full-fee scholarship — a generous opportunity by all means.
But my heart pulled me back to Fauji Foundation College, the place where I’d already spent 12 years studying, growing, and building memories.
Even though Fauji Foundation offered only a 75% fee waiver, I chose loyalty over convenience.

That decision wasn’t just about academics — it was about belonging.
It was where I had friends, teachers who knew me, and a deep sense of comfort that only comes from being home.

Friendship and Growth

I convinced my best friend, Zakria Rehman, to join me at Fauji Foundation — though he went for Pre-Medical while I pursued Pre-Engineering.
He’s now a Veterinary Doctor, and our paths — though different — began in the same classrooms.

During those two years, I learned a lot — academically and personally.
I scored 85% in my first year and 83% overall in Intermediate (Pre-Engineering).
I played sports, built friendships, and started seeing what kind of person I wanted to become.

The Turning Point

It was during this time that I set my eyes on Software Engineering.
That became my focus — my goal.
Fauji Foundation gave me direction, discipline, and the spark that led me toward technology.

And somewhere in those same corridors, I also saw for the first time the girl who would later become my life partner — another reason that makes this place unforgettable.

A Place That Built Me

When I look back, Fauji Foundation isn’t just a name on my certificates.
It’s where I grew up, where I learned to stay loyal, where I made lifelong friends, and where I discovered who I wanted to be.

Spending almost 14 years in the same institution says something — about consistency, loyalty, and passion.
It’s a chapter I’ll always cherish — because it built the foundation of who I am today.
